A short history:
The medical clinic was founded by Dr. Ray & Janet Psonak in 1993 as
Environmental Health Care Maine. Starting as a home office in Old
Orchard Beach, Maine, we eventually moved to an office in Westbrook,
Maine. In 2001 the business was renamed to Environmental Health &
Complementary Medicine and was moved to our current location in New Gloucester,
Maine. In 2008 we became known as Chelation Medical Center, LLC.
Our Vision:
Even before entering medical school, Dr. Ray and Janet recognized
environmental factors played a significant role in health and disease.
As research is revealing that early concept is only now being proven. We
continue to offer cutting edge medical services and products consistent
with the Hippocratic Corpus: "First do no harm... to abstain from
whatever is deleterious..... will give no deadly medicine to any one if
asked, nor suggest any such counsel"
"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will instruct his
patient in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and
prevention of disease". (Thomas Edison 1903)
Are you interested in alternative ways to treat or prevent diseases?
Here at Chelation Medical Center, Dr. Psonak looks at the whole person
and the integrative ways that the body works. Specialized lab tests and
innovative treatments characterize the practice. Patients are helped
with a wide range of symptoms. The immune system and other systems of
the body are looked at as an integrative whole. Care is especially given
to the allergic and/or sensitive patients who react to many incitants in
their environment, from fragrances and chemicals to pollens, dander and
foods. The office is environmentally friendly and kept fragrance free. A
unique technique of allergy testing called Provocative / Neutralization
or P/N can be done for individuals with allergies to foods, pollens and
molds. In this way, no build up over months or years on allergy shots
are necessary and relief from symptoms is more immediate. Specialized
tests are done for diagnosis of Candida, leaky gut syndrome,
sensitivities to foods, casein (from milk), gluten (from grains),
pollens, dust, mites, etc. We also examine amino acids, hormones,
neurotransmitters, cytokines, and check for toxic metals as needed.
Patients are checked for heavy metal toxicity through IV, oral or rectal
chelation if heavy metals are suspected. IV therapy is the treatment of
choice for patients with toxicity from heavy metals such as lead,
mercury, cadmium, aluminum, etc., affecting patients suffering from
circulatory problems, neurological diseases, metabolic deficiencies,
diabetes, migraine headaches, Parkinson's and others. IV therapy is also
used with alternative Cancer therapies.
