And here’s how…
- Eat lots of vegetables and fruit. Smoothies are popular and a good start. Put into your smoothie alkalizing fruit like berries, watermelon and other melons, and greens like kale, mustard, turnip, collard or endives.
- Strive for two cups of alkalizing vegetables (see acid/alkaline table) at two meals a day.
- Limit meats, fish, dairy, wheat grains and sugar to 40% and Alkaline-forming foods like vegetables and fruits to 60% of your daily intake.
- If you are fighting a disease, ideally the diet should be 80% alkaline-forming and 20% acid-forming foods.
A simple way to approach it is in your first morning urine pH that should be between 6.5 and 7. So if you are regularly below 6.5, increase the alkaline foods in your daily routine.
Here are some helpful hints in addition that will help your body to alkalize quickly:
Drink 1/2 of a lemon or lime in water a few times a day.
Yams, sweet potatoes and lentils will help to alkalize your body quickly.
Prepare seaweeds in a soup and other dishes daily.
Add the alkalizing grains: oats, quinoa, and wild rice.
Use supplements like buffered vitamin C and magnesium that also alkalize at optimum doses.
And please be patient. Your pH indicates your reserve of alkaline minerals. It can take a few months to build up these reserves. So don’t be discouraged! Remember the ideal alkaline state (pH 6.5 to 7.5) is doable… it just takes a little time and persistence to sustain, repair and rebuild those mineral reserves again!
